Dursley Rugby Club, Thursday 16th March 2017

On Thursday, Mr Blackwood took eleven children to Dursley Rugby Club to take part in the tag rugby festival.  The children enjoyed working together and became a fantastic team very quickly.  There were some very impressive rugby skills on show too!  Well done to all those children who participated - your behaviour and attitude was superb.

Cross Country Event 4

KLB School, Saturday 28th January 2017

On Saturday, Mr Blackwood watched with pride as our cross country representatives completed their final race of the season.  Conditions were a bit muddier than usual, but this didn't stop the runners as they showed fantastic perseverance and determination to finish the race and the season strongly.  It was fantastic to see all the families cheering on the runners again!  A special mention must go to Leo in Willow Class, who was desperate to run on Saturday but was too ill to compete.  This didn't stop him coming along with his family to support the school though!

All in all, a really proud moment for Mr Blackwood and the school.  Well done runners, bring on next season's races!

Cross Country Event 3

KLB School, Saturday 3rd December 2016

Mr Blackwood was thrilled to see so many children braving the cold weather again on Saturday as they competed in the third cross country event of the year.  Another change to the running course made it a challenge for our runners, but they handled the new route very well.  In fact, many children improved their final position yet again!  Very well done to all of our runners.

Boys Football Tournament

Rednock School, Wednesday 9th November 2016

Jake, Aaron, Ollie (Captain), Tyrhys, Ashton, Ethan, Finlay, Tom and Lucas.

On Wednesday, Mr Blackwood took nine boys to Rednock School to compete in the district football tournament.  It was a great occasion and the boys were extremely excited and proud to represent the school, especially in our brand new kit!  After a 1-0 defeat in the opening game, the boys got together superbly well and began to work as a team.  They then went on to win all of the remaining five games without conceding another goal!  This meant that the boys finished in 2nd place overall, which is a brilliant result and another very proud moment for the school.  Mr Blackwood would like to thank the staff and parents that supported this event by helping to take the boys to and from the tournament, as well as cheering on from the side-lines.  Well done boys!

Cross Country Event 2

KLB School, Saturday 5th November 2016

It was a cold morning on Saturday but conditions were perfect for our second cross country event of the year.  Another fantastic turnout from our runners meant that there was lots of cheering on as the children passed their friends and families, who were supporting them fantastically well all around the circuit.  Many of our runners even managed to improve upon their result from the first race!  It was clear to see that our running club at school was helping many of the children.  Mr Blackwood was extremely proud of all the runners!

The conditions were perfect for a great race, and Mr Blackwood and the children's families enjoyed cheering the children on as they ran past on their way to the finish line in our school's brand new running vests!  Congratulations to all of competitors, we can't wait to see you at the next cross country event!

Our First Intra-School Sports Competition!

September 2016

This year, we were very excited start off the sporting calendar by running our very own sports event called Cam Woodfield's Intra-School Sports Competition.  This was a fantastic success - all morning we had fun competing in our house colours.  It was brilliant to see children of all ages working together and supporting each other so well.  We awarded points for how well each team competed in each game, but also gave bonus points for all of the wonderful "sporting attitude" that was on show from each house.

In fact, those Sporting Attitude points made all the difference on the day, and the winning house with a whopping 699 points was....

Yellow House!

Congratulations, you are the first ever winners of our Intra-School Sports Competition!

New Sports Kit, July 2016

Cam Woodfield Junior School is very proud to present its brand new sports kit, to be worn in a variety of sporting events and competitions in the future!  The kit comes in our school colours of blue and gold, with a lovely embroidered crest, meaning our players can represent the school with great pride.  We also have a great new goalkeeper's shirt in a fluorescent yellow and again with an embroidered badge.  All of the shirts have been very kindly sponsored by Norville Opticians.  Many thanks to them for their contributions, and also to Under-The-Edge Media for coming in to photograph some of our players in their new kit.  Here are some snaps of our children in their new shirts!
