School Development Board (SDB)

Introduction

Cam Woodfield Junior School is part of the Cotswold Beacon Academy Trust (a Multi Academy Trust) together with Berkeley Primary School and Marling School.

In each school, the Board of Trustees has delegated some of its governance responsibilities to School Development Boards, with the provision that each Board shall comprise not less than 9 and not more than 13 local Governors, as follows:

  • The Headteacher
  • A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 Parent Local Governors
  • A minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 Staff Local Governors
  • Other Local Governors appointed by the Trustees.

Emma lives and works locally in Cam as a self-employed designer. She has been a Governor at Cam Woodfield Junior School since January 2016 and Co-Chair since January 2017. In April 2022, Nicola Evered completed her term of office and stepped down from the role or Co-Chair and Emma took on the role of Chair.
Emma works closely with Mrs Bennett, the team of governors and staff at CWJS, providing effective leadership and strategic direction for the school.

Mrs Louise Bennett

Headteacher

Louise started with the school as a seconded Executive Headteacher in September 2017. In October 2017, Louise was appointed substantive Headteacher for Cam Woodfield Juniors. She has been a Headteacher for over 7 years and has been described by Ofsted in her last school, as having 'An Uncompromising Drive for Excellence.'

Mrs Kathleen Mcgillycuddy

Kathleen has worked in education in the South West for over 17 years and is currently the principal of a secondary school. She has a particular interest in levelling the playing field for disadvantaged students.

Mr Daniel Holmes

Daniel moved to Cam in August 2016 and now lives in Dursley. He has worked in HR Strategy & Technology since 2014, both in Local Government as well as spending some time consulting across sectors and industries. He currently works as an HR Analytics & Systems Officer within the Civil Service. Daniel believes passionately that there is no problem we cannot solve through great education.
