Sports Fund Information 
Sports premium funding must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
CWJS Priorities & Objectives 

FUNDING: £17880 (2018-2019)

B/FW: 10K (TBC whether this outstanding payment has been made by GCC to date)

The school will focus on the Government’s healthy living and tackling obesity:

  • Audit children’s activity outside of school
  • Target children who lack motivation to join in with activities or sporting activities
  • Provide a range of activities that encourage participation
  • In addition to pupils’ PE curriculum entitlement, daily and weekly activities are put in place to address pupils’ fitness and mental health.
  • Monitor impact of provision provided for children and the increase of participation.
  • Communicate with parents the importance of sport and healthy living.

The school takes an active part in competition sports and events:

  • The school is an active member of the district sports events.
  • Pupils have a wide range of sporting & competitive opportunities against other schools.
  • The school ensures that Y6 pupils have the opportunities to achieve the statutory criteria for swimming and water safety by the time they leave the school.

Good CPD for staff development:

  • PE specialist audits staff skills in delivering PE
  • Generate a training programme from staff audit analysis
  • External coaches provide CPD for staff development
  • PE teaching and learning improves in areas identified as needing support.
  • SSN involvement – provides training.

Estimated cost: £4000

Playground Resources:

Pupils are confident in providing playground games that promote fitness and team building opportunities.

  • Purchase resources to increase the variety of activities provided at break / lunch time
  • Peer coaching to use the equipment is in place
  • A variety of play equipment to address pupils’ interests.

Travel expenses for cluster and external sports competitions/events:

Long term project

Governors to support the installation of a MUGA Pitch or running track for the school and community’s use.

  • Governors contact suppliers / companies for quotes regarding MUGA pitches
  • Governors to research local community grants to support the cost of the MUGA pitch
