Maple Class Year 6

Welcome to Maple Class 
 
 
Our theme this term is: New York, New York
In Maple this term, we will be learning through the theme of 'New York, New York'.
 
We will be finding out about life in the 1920s and comparing the lives of people living in the UK and America during this time. We will also be looking in detail at the geography of New York. Also, we will be looking at the book 'The Good Thieves' in English which will help us understand about life in New York in the 1920s.

Key Information 

PE

We will have PE lessons on a Monday  and Wednesday this year. Please ensure that your child's PE kit is named and in school at all times. 

Reading

Children are expected to be reading at home at least 3 times per week to support their learning. Reading Records should be brought into school every day and will be checked on a Thursday.  

Times tables

Children are encouraged to continue using TimesTable Rockstars at home each week. Every child has their username and password to enable them to log in. This will be checked in school, if you have any problems logging in, please speak to the class teacher.

Purple Mash

The children have access to Purple Mash which they can use whenever they want. They could produce some of their theme homework using this platform and then send it to school.
